DESIGN ENGINEER – IT INFRASTRUCTURE

The primary purpose of this role is to design and coordinate IT and digital infrastructure for hospitals and healthcare projects in close cooperation with other members of project teams.

Your role:

• To design and coordinate IT and digital infrastructure for hospitals and healthcare projects 
• To develop layouts and specifications for structured cabling, server rooms, network racks, and active equipment 
• To define technical requirements for hospital IT systems, communications, and integrations 
• To coordinate low-voltage systems: nurse call, IPTV, medical IT, CCTV, access control, PACS and PABX systems 
• To collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and architectural teams on interface planning 
• To review and integrate vendor specifications and ensure compliance with client IT protocols 
• To support documentation for design, tender, and construction phases 
• To ensure alignment with cybersecurity, redundancy, and healthcare digitalization standards 
• Reporting to Lead Architect / Project Manager of Engineering 

What we think the right candidate should look like:

• University Degree in IT Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field 
• 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure design and planning for buildings, hospitals, or large institutions 
• Experience with LV/ICT systems such as structured cabling, data networks, security systems, servers and distribution room standards
• Knowledge of Czech and European building/design codes required; knowledge of GB or AUS international codes is a big advantage 
• Familiarity with Revit/BIM workflows and IT-related documentation tools
• Familiarity with healthcare technology integration and digital workflows 
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary inputs (MEP, architecture, IT security) and strong communication skills
• Attention to detail in documentation, device mapping, and system topologies 
• Certification in IT infrastructure or systems design (e.g., CISCO, BICSI, TIA) is an advantage 
• Flexibility to travel abroad – about 4 – 6 travels per year
• English – very good for active use (international teams); Czech is an advantage
